An Aer Lingus flight traveling from Dublin to Rome was diverted to a French military base on Thursday, Nov. 5, after a bomb threat. The aircraft landed safely at Évreux Air Base in Normandy.

The Airbus A320 was carrying 151 passengers and six crew members. Everyone left the plane without injury, while specialist explosive-response teams began inspecting the aircraft.

The office of French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu said it was monitoring the situation. Authorities had not disclosed the source of the threat or whether a device had been found. The investigation into the threat against the Aer Lingus flight was ongoing.

The incident followed several bomb threats involving commercial flights in Europe in recent days. On Tuesday, Nov. 3, alerts targeted at least seven aircraft and a cruise ship in different countries, leading to diversions, inspections and temporary airport disruptions. In most cases, searches found no explosives. Authorities had not confirmed whether the incidents were connected.
