At least 12 people were killed and 15 injured Saturday, November 7, when a passenger bus collided with a truck in Chile’s Valparaíso region, local authorities said.
The crash happened on the Ruta de la Fruta highway in the municipality of Santo Domingo, west of the capital, Santiago.
Manuel Millones, Valparaíso’s regional delegate, confirmed the death toll, citing police sources.
About 50 firefighters were sent to the scene, according to Cesar Carreno, commander of the Santo Domingo Fire Department.
