Eight people, including a child, were killed in new Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip on Sunday, Nov. 1, according to the local Civil Defense. The strikes hit Khan Yunis and Gaza City, the Civil Defense said.
The Israel Defense Forces had not commented on the attacks as of the report. Israeli forces have continued carrying out strikes in Gaza despite a cease-fire declared under a peace agreement between Israel and Hamas, mediated by the United States in October of the previous year.
The agreement has three stages and is currently in its second phase. That phase calls for Israeli troops to withdraw from Gaza and for Hamas to disarm. Hamas and Gaza’s government have agreed to surrender weapons, while Israeli troops remain in the Palestinian territory, according to the report.
More than 74,000 people have been killed since the war began in October 2023, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry, which is controlled by Hamas. The conflict began after Hamas attacked Israeli territory, killing about 1,200 people and taking 251 others hostage, the report said.
